Hear Almost Nothing
The Evolution Septic Assist features sound reducing technology that ensures less noise than a standard disposer. This state-of-the-art technology makes it possible to hold a conversation with normal voices in the same room as the disposer. This technology includes superior insulation around the motor, an anti-vibration sink mount, and an anti-vibration tailpipe to prevent sound transmission from vibrations. The sink baffle also helps prevent sound from escaping the throat of the disposer.
Stop Worrying About What Foods You Put Down Your Disposer
The Evolution Septic Assist disposer features MultiGrind technology, which allows you to grind almost any food waste reducing the chance of clogs and jams. This disposer features a two-stage grind technology that includes a GrindShear Ring and Tri-Action Lug system that makes tough to grind foods a thing of the past as food waste is virtually liquefied to safely flow into your sewage system.
InSinkErator brand disposers are the easiest to install. That's because all InSinkErator garbage disposal models feature our popular stainless steel Quick Lock sink mount. Just "twist off" the old disposer and "twist on" the new one. What's more, with Quick Lock, you can replace any InSinkErator branded garbage disposal including Badger garbage disposals.
The Evolution Septic Assist disposer includes our exclusive Bio-Charge enzyme treatment to help keep your septic system running smoothly. The Bio-Charge Injection technology automatically injects millions of enzyme-producing microorganisms into the Septic Assist every time it is activated to help break down food waste. A citrus scent to helps control odors from the sink and drain.
Recycle Your Food Waste
Food waste disposers don't just offer practical convenience; they provide an environmentally sound answer to the growing problem of food waste. Food waste disposers can provide an environmentally responsible alternative to transporting food waste to landfills. And they can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. At capable wastewater treatment plants, food waste can be recycled to produce renewable energy.

Finally, a disposal on my farm.
I live on a farm with septic have been without a disposal for 17 years. This was about 17 years too long for my wife, so I finally decided to give this a whirl. Installation was a breeze with clear instructions and most of what you’ll need (You’ll need a way to keep to power and a strain relief or their pre packaged power cord kit (that comes with everything needed to plug in)) as well as the final pieces to tie into your sewer drain. If you’ve never had a disposal at that site you will need to think about your plan and figure two trips minimum to your local home improvement store.
Big, Bulky, Strong and Quiet…
This thing is HUGE! Don’t be deceived by the picture, it will take up a significant amount of your under-sink space. We have a double basin sink installed in a standard 24″ cabinet, and have this bad boy installed in the left basin. It was too big to fit, so we had to cut the side wall out of the cabinet. Luckily, there is a void between it and the next cabinet so this was not a problem for us, but if you had a cabinet right next to your sink cabinet, you might have an issue. Shouldn’t be a problem if you have a larger sink cabinet, or if you have a standard cabinet with a single basin with a drain in the center.
Upgrade replacement for old unit.
I had to order this as a replacement for my 15 year old ISE disposal that had began to leak because my water has a low Ph (Read acid). My old unit was the Septic safe model that was based on the 1/2 HP badger unit, the old one was louder, and took a lot longer to grind similar amounts of waste. They no longer make that disposal and this is the closest replacement. I’m giving this new unit 5 stars based on only a month and a half of use and the performance of the old unit. This unit is both quieter and faster, I was 5 star happy with the old unit and if this one lasts as long I will be more than happy with it.Something I will mention about this unit that I do not like compared to the old unit is that this one does not have an indicator on the side to remind you when to order more “Bio Charge” other than that this unit is better in every way. I will mention that this unit was a drop in replacement for the old unit, the fit was so similar that if anything was different I couldn’t tell, yo have to like that. Truth be told I would have bought the lower price lesser and louder unit and been happy with it at a lower price, with this new disposal I feel that I got just as much value for my money.
I feel that I got a good service life out of that one and I have …
I purchased the Evolution Septic Assist to replace an old one that finally began having problems after about 15 years of service. I feel that I got a good service life out of that one and I have never had a problem with my septic system so I purchased a new model as a replacement. It seems to be just as well built as my old one. It’s big and heavy like the old one. It’s a little better looking than the old one, if that really matters to you. I believe it does a better job of “disposing” but it is new vs a 15 year old model so it could just be that the old one was worn out; I couldn’t say if it worked better when it was new or not. The new one is much quieter than the old one. I would put it at about a third the noise of the old one; a reduction of 66%. I have every reason to believe it will hold up every bit as good as the old one but only time will tell. As a side, be sure to read the instructions concerning the enzyme bottle. If you do not install it properly the disposal will not dispense it. You have to twist the cap on the bottle until the spout pops out and up before installing it.
A garbage disposer for septic tanks? I love it!
I didn’t know you could put a garbage disposer in a house with a septic tank but when a contractor friend set me straight I had one of these on the way within minutes. (Thank you Prime shipping!) Installation is no more difficult than any other disposer and you’ll be happy to have your old friend back.
So far so good
Has been in use for 2 months. The septic pumper recommended it. Had a plumber install it. I had replaced my counter tops and the new faucets and sink had to be connected anyways. The only problem he had was the size. It’s larger than a regular disposer so it wouldn’t fit with the existing plumbing. I didn’t want to pay for a complete overhaul under the sink. It had to go on the left side of the sink. It’s also heavier than a regular disposer so I don’t know if it will pull on the plumbing over time. Maybe it should have extra brackets or something for support. It’s very quiet and works well. The price at Amazon was better than the price at the local home supply stores. It came in good time and packaging was fine. Didn’t need the plug apparatus I purchased because the plumber said it was better to hard-wire it. Fine with me since I’m not a DIYer in the plumbing department.
An Easy Install
This unit is easy to install and runs quietly. However, the BioCharge cartridge broken open in the box. The box was ruined and cartridge was unusable, but I decided to accept the loss rather than send the entire unit back for replacement. The fluid in the cartridge does not seem to stain and has no obnoxious odor. A new cartridge at Lowes is about $15.
to the extent that my better half asked "are you sure it’s working
This is my 2nd unit in 14 years.. (I must’ve damaged the first, when I dislodged a piece of metal with a flat bar and hammer, because it developed an internal leak shortly afterwards).. ++buy it here for $199 or go get it at the home Depot for $249. I have to say, the noise level is substantially lower in this one.. to the extent that my better half asked “are you sure it’s working?”.
… have a septic tank and this unit is a great alternative to no disposal at all
This is an update to my original posting, I ordered a replacement enzyme cartridge from amazon and after installing it when we turned on the unit, the cartridge would fall off. I called customer service at inSinkErator to inquire if there were any other issues. After taking to someone whose English was marginal, and listening to her go through her flip chart, the solution was to send s a new disposal. I asked for a replacement cartridge because this seemed to be the most likely fix, but instead a new disposal. My husband compared the cartridge that came with the unit to the replacement one from Amazon and the small plastic pieces at the neck of the cartridge were different. He made two small cuts with the exacto knife to these plastic pieces and the cartridge fits perfectly. It seems that there’s a small design flaw with the replacement cartridges and after reading the reviews there are others who have had the same problem. I contacted customer service again at inSinkErator to try to bring this to their attention but to no avail. Amazon has replaced the cartridge, but it is just like the faulty one.
