Hot Water Tank Included
Hot Water Tank
While an instant hot water dispenser sits elegantly on your sink, the hot water tank sits conveniently below it. The included 2/3 gallon stainless steel tank provides up to 60 cups of near-boiling water per hour. Also designed for use with the Hot Water Tank is the InSinkErator F-1000S filtration system. When paired with the hot water tank, the F-1000S filtration system reduces particulates, chlorine taste and odor to ensure you have great tasting water. (F-1000S filtration system sold separately).
Hot Water Instantly
Hot water instantly? How does that work?
It’s actually pretty simple. Water comes up from your supply line into our specially designed hot water tank, where it’s heated to 200°F. As the water is used, more water replaces it in the tank. With a fast recovery system, the hot water tank can deliver up to 60 cups of near boiling-water an hour. All of our instant hot water dispensers fit a standard 1.5-inch hole on the sink or the countertop and require a grounded electrical outlet under the sink. The Hot Water Tank features tool-free connections to ease installation, and includes dry-start protection for peace of mind. Please refer to your product’s Instruction Care and Use manual for details and tools required for installation.

Nice product – frustrating to install as a replacement unit

This product looks good and works fine. I would have given it a higher rating except for some frustrating install issues. I was replacing a prior InSinkErator hot water dispenser. (Old one lasted 7 or 8 years, probably because it was always on a water filter – still worked but was seeping around the heating element)

Cheap Feel and Installation Issues

BE ADVISED that this unit does not come with all the parts needed for installation! I have had a couple of frustrating phone calls with Insinkerator about this issue. I found missing the 1/4″ compression nut and ferrule to connect the 1/4″ copper water supply line. I never got a good answer as to why they do not provide this 50 cents worth of brass that would prevent installation frustration, despite asking the question many times. They say it is printed on the outside of the box that you must provide this, but it is very obscure fine print and unclearly stated. And if you are buying it on Amazon you cannot see the box, and if you could see the box it would not tell you the size. InSinkErator seemed brain-dead to this issue and I cannot support such disregard for the customer any more. So if this is a replacement unit, be prepared to make a trip to the hardware store where you will have to purchase at least several each of nut and ferrules when you only need one. If it is a new install, get a 1/4″ water supply valve and the correct compression fittings.

WE use a lot of hot water and love having the instant hot. So, far I have had no problems with the Insinkerator and am hopeful that if we should we’ll great the great customer service that others have commented on. I bought this with a separate faucet, the Indulge, and we love it. The faucet that now comes with this seems to be better quality than the old one, but is not that stylish. My one issue is that it is cheaper to buy the tank with this faucet, than to buy the tank alone, which doesn’t make any sense. I would like to see a package with the tank and the better faucets at a reasonable price.
A Hit and A Miss

There is a reason for the title- Insinkerator has engineered almost as nice a DIY unit as possible. There are four major faucet options, filters, and one kit even offers both hot and cold tapwater from same faucet. Instructions are illustrated, parts are labeled on diagram, and it is written in English, Spanish & French.
Quieter than old one.

This is a little clunky looking, but it works quietly and that is a huge plus! Wish it was sturdy metal, unfortunately it’s coated plastic and is already starting to show dings and peeling. So be careful not to bang it with cutlery or pots… but of course since its the kitchen sink area it will happen. I like the bigger tank.
Okay, but be prepared for failure.

Order this item as a replacement for an existing unit about 4 years old. The old unit developed a leak, was disappointed. After reading the reviews I ordered this as a replacement, exact fit for the faucet.. etc. So I was curious as to what the failure was so I took the old unit apart. Indeed the tank is stainless steel, but the failure point was just a simple pressure release tube that runs from the top of one of the fittings to the relief valve. That tube is appears to be made of some type of silicon based material that is flexible, but the problem is IT IS NOT HEAT resistant. Over time the tube turned brown to black and eventually hardened to the point it cracked.. This is very disappointing, as they tout the unit as being built with a stainless steel tank etc.. They will never last, luck I got 4 years out of it… My suggestion buy an under the sink water alarm.. you will need it!.. I found it was leaking simply because the sink base was wet.. It is a slow leak which is even worst, as it will soak rather then flood. Again to bad.. Classic case of a good company cutting corners to make a buck. The unit is not worth the price , far from it…

This product came without the fitting to connect it to a water supply. Nowhere in the Amazon product description does it alert the consumer that it can not be installed without a trip to a plumbing supply store. While we are on the topic of extras not in the package, I alert you to the incredibly short supply line that comes attached to the product. The length of this line will severely limit your options when it comes to mounting the heater. I would recommend you drop the head in place, see how far the copper line will go before deciding where to mount it or if you should buy additional line while at the plumbing supply store.
So far, so good

So far so good. I finally got it installed last week and it works as advertised. I haven’t measured or set the temperature, right now I’m just using it for coffee and tea.
